Background
- The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the smallGTPase superfamily, Rab family. The protein is membrane-bound andmay be involved in protein transport and small GTPase mediatedsignal transduction. Mutations in this gene are associated withGriscelli syndrome type 2. Alternative splicing occurs at thislocus and four transcript variants encoding the same protein havebeen identified.
