Background
- This gene encodes a protein similar to the mousehedgehog-interacting protein, a regulatory component of thehedgehog signalling pathway. Members of the hedgehog family areevolutionarily conserved proteins which are involved in manyfundamental processes in embryonic development, includinganteroposterior patterns of limbs and regulation of left-rightasymmetry.
