Background
- This gene encodes a protein that binds tomicroRNA-targeting sequences of mRNAs, inhibiting microRNA-mediatedrepression. Reduced expression of this gene has been implicated intongue squamous cell carcinoma. Two pseudogenes of this gene arelocated on the long arm of chromosome 17.
