Signal Transduction Antibodies
The term signal transduction refers to the movement of a signal from the outside of a cell to the inside, where the incoming signal can lead to changes in cellular activity such as gene transcription. This occurs in all organisms, from the very simple bacteria responding to changes in their environment, to complex organisms that use cell signaling to control and regulate their development and organization in tissues. Often, a signal transduction pathway will involve second messengers. If the pathway involves numerous proteins and second messengers, it is labeled a signaling cascade. This can result in massive amplification of the original input signal.
ProSci has a wide variety of signal transduction antibodies and related protein detection sets. These include an IRAK Detection Set (IL1 receptor associated kinase), Adipokine: Adiponectin and CTRP Detection Set (C1q-TNF related proteins), TLR Adaptor Detection Set (Toll-Like Receptor) and a TOR Signaling Pathway Detection Set (Target of rapamycin). ProSci antibodies are appropriate for ELISA, western blot, and immunohistochemistry (IHC) applications as noted for each signal transduction antibody.
