Liver cirrhosis lysates were generated from tissue samples which have been diagnosed with liver cirrhosis. ProSci lysates come ready-to-use and are available for proteomics research applications including electrophoresis, western blot, immunoprecipitation, enzymatic activity analysis, protein-protein interaction analysis, and tissue specific expression identification. Please check product documentation to see recommended and tested applications for each liver cirrhosis lysate.
Liver cirrhosis is a complication of chronic liver disease which is characterized by abnormal structure and functioning of the liver. The underlying result of liver cirrhosis is replacement of normal healthy liver tissue with scar tissue, which leads to a progressive loss of liver function. The most common cause of liver cirrhosis is alcoholic liver disease (caused by alcoholism) and hepatitis C. Other causes can include hepatitis B, autoimmune hepatitis, primary biliary cirrhosis, Wilson’s disease, cystic fibrosis chemicals (such as drugs, fat and medications) viruses and toxic metals (such as iron and copper that may accumulate in the liver as a result of some genetic diseases).
