Primary Antibodies

FGA Antibody

Background

FGA is the alpha component of fibrinogen, a blood-borne glycoprotein comprised of three pairs of nonidentical polypeptide chains. Following vascular injury, fibrinogen is cleaved by thrombin to form fibrin which is the most abundant component of blood clots. In addition, various cleavage products of fibrinogen and fibrin regulate cell adhesion and spreading, display vasoconstrictor and chemotactic activities, and are mitogens for several cell types. Mutations in its gene lead to several disorders, including dysfibrinogenemia, hypofibrinogenemia, afibrinogenemia and renal amyloidosis. The protein encoded by this gene is the alpha component of fibrinogen, a blood-borne glycoprotein comprised of three pairs of nonidentical polypeptide chains. Alternative splicing results in two isoforms which vary in the carboxy-terminus.

Additional Names

FGA, fibrinogen alpha chain

FGA Antibody

Description

Left: Western blot analysis of FGA expression in jurkat cell lysate using FGA antibody 5.0µg/ml. Lane A is a marker, and the lysate is in lane B.

Below: Immunocytochemistry of human skin tissue using FGA antibody at 4.0 - 8.0µg/ml.

Purification

Rabbit IgG purified by protein A chromatography.

Clonality / Clone

This is a polyclonal antibody.

Host

FGA antibody was raised in rabbit.

Please use anti-rabbit IgG secondary antibodies.

Immunogen

Polyclonal antibody produced in rabbits immunized with a synthetic peptide corresponding to a region of Human FGA.

Application

FGA antibody can be used for Western blot at a suggested dilution at 5.0µg/ml in 5% skim milk / PBS buffer, and HRP conjugated anti-Rabbit IgG should be diluted in 1: 50,000 - 100,000 as secondary antibody.

Tested Application

WB, IHC

Buffer

Antibody is supplied in PBS buffer with 2% sucrose. Product may ship lyophilized. To reconstitute add 100μl of distilled water making the final concentration 1 mg/ml.
