History

ProSci Incorporated is a privately-held biotech firm located in San Diego, California. Research Antibodies

ProSci Incorporated specializes in the production of affinity-purified peptide-specific polyclonal antibodies to novel antigens in fields such as Apoptosis, HIV/Chemokine Receptors, Signal Transduction, Neurobiology and Immunology. To date, ProSci has released more than 140 antibodies in these fields, with 70 more currently in development. The majority of these antibodies are directed towards apoptotic regions, where ProSci has targeted more than 80 proteins of interest. All Polyclonal Research Antibodies offered by ProSci are affinity-purified, which allows for the isolation of antibodies specific to the epitope of interest. As a result, ProSci's antibodies have the same specificity as monoclonal antibodies at a price well below competitors' polyclonal antibodies. In addition, ProSci offers a complete assortment of cell lysates, tissue lysates and peptides to complement the use of these antibodies.

Custom Antibody Services

In line with its research product offerings, ProSci offers custom polyclonal and monoclonal antibody production services using its own animal facilities in San Diego, California. To enhance the value and accuracy of these custom produced antibodies, ProSci provides a complete spectrum of immunochemistry services. These include antigen design assistance, antibody characterization, peptide synthesis, protein conjugation, IgG and affinity purification, ELISA, Western Blot Mass Spectrometry, and Immunohistochemistry. Research Programs

In conjunction with its strengths in the antibody and reagent market, ProSci Incorporated actively conducts research in a variety of fields. Most notably, ProSci is testing a novel tumor marker for diagnostic and therapeutics applications. In addition, ProSci is performing research in fields such as AIDS vaccine development, stem cells, proteomics and bioterrorism. This capacity to innovate again becomes a service for the customer, as it allows ProSci to offer contract research alliances with outside institutions. In such situations, ProSci provides large-scale customized immunochemistry services tailored to the needs of the institution, thereby permitting the reduction of research costs, the outsourcing of immunochemistry services and the incorporation of high-grade antibody products into research projects.

Why our prices are low

Having been in the industry for so many years, ProSci owns all of its facilities, and therefore benefits from low overhead and fixed costs. In addition, because these facilities produce such a large number of antibodies per year, ProSci enjoys significant economies-of-scale, thereby reducing per-animal costs. Above all, these prices do not translate into lower-grade products as experience has enabled ProSci to continually improve the quality of its antibodies.
