Immunology Antibodies
Immunology is a tremendously broad research area which focuses on the immune system. Much of the research is centered on the control of the major lymphocytes. B lymphocytes, killer T cells, and helper T cells are the main groups of immune cells. T cells are involved in cell mediated immune response. Helper T cells recognize antigens bound to Class I major histocompatibility complex (Class I MHC) and killer T cells recognize antigens bound to Class II major histocompatibility complex (Class II MHC). B lymphocytes present antigens on unique major histocompatibility complex (MHC) molecules. When this complex on the B lymphocyte is recognized by a matching T cell, the T cell releases cytokines which activate the B lymphocyte and cause it to produce millions of antibodies.
Activation induced cytidine deaminase (AID), interleukin-23 (IL-23), a homolog to toll-like receptor 4 called RP105, interleukin-27 (IL-27), and T cell immunoglobulin and mucin domain containing protein 1 and 4 (TIM1 and TIM4) are all proteins which have strong implications in recent immunology research. Activation induced cytidine deaminase (AID) is necessary for somatic hypermutation and class switch recombination in B lymphocytes. Interleukin-23 (IL-23) has many functions associated with immunology, including enhancement of memory T cell proliferation, enhancement of activated T cell release of IFN-gamma, IL-12, and TNF-α, as well as activating macrophages to produce TNF-α and nitric oxide. Interleukin-27 (IL-27) has a wider influence in immunology by playing a roll in limiting the duration and intensity of responses of the adaptive immune system. T cell immunoglobulin and mucin domain containing protein 1 (TIM1) is genetically linked to asthma, and it is a receptor for hepatitis A virus, and the ligand of TIM1 is T cell immunoglobulin and mucin domain containing protein 4 (TIM4).
ProSci has many immunology antibodies, including antibodies to the proteins mentioned here. ProSci's Immunology antibodies include antibodies against a homolog to toll-like receptor 4 called RP105, activation induced cytidine deaminase (AID), interleukin 23 (IL-23), T cell immunoglobulin and mucin domain containing protein 1 and 4 (TIM1 and TIM4) and interleukin 27 (IL-27). ProSci antibodies are appropriate for ELISA, western blot, and immunohistochemistry (IHC) applications as noted for each immunology antibody.
