Additional Names
Epidermal growth factor
Preparation
A sterile filtered antibody solution was lyophilized from PBS, pH 7.2.
Clonality/Clone
This is a polyclonal antibody.
Conjugate
Biotin
Source
Produced from sera of rabbits pre-immunized with highly pure (>98%) recombinant Rat EGF (Rat Epidermal Growth Factor). Anti-Rat EGF specific antibody was purified by affinity chromatography and then biotinylated.
Host
AntiEGF antibody was raised in rabbit.

Please use rabbit secondary antibodies.
Application
ELISA:
Direct:
To detect Rat EGF by direct ELISA (using 100 μl/well antibody solution) a concentration of 0.25 – 1.0 μg/ml of this antibody is required. This biotinylated polyclonal antibody, in conjunction with compatible secondary reagents, allows the detection of at least 0.2 – 0.4 ng/well of recombinant Rat EGF.

Sandwich

To detect Rat EGF by sandwich ELISA (using 100 μl/well antibody solution) a concentration of 0.25 – 1.0 μg/ml of this antibody is required. This biotinylated polyclonal antibody, in conjunction with our polyclonal Anti-Rat EGF as a capture antibody, allows the detection of at least 0.2 – 0.4 ng/well of recombinant Rat EGF.

Western Blot:

To detect Rat EGF by Western Blot analysis this antibody can be used at a concentration of 0.5 - 1.0 μg/ml. Used in conjunction with compatible secondary reagents the detection limit for recombinant Rat EGF is 1.5 - 3.0 ng/lane, under either reducing or non-reducing conditions.
Tested Application
E, WB
Storage
EGF lyophilized antibody is stable for at least 6 months when kept at -20˚C. The biotinylated antibody should be reconstituted to a concentration of 50 μg/ml with sterile PBS solution containing 0.1% BSA. This solution can be stored at 4˚C for at least one month without detectable loss of activity. Frozen aliquots of this solution are stable for at least 6 months when kept at -20˚C. Avoid more than one freeze-thaw cycle.
